Italy pt II: Best Italian Lodging EVER

Renting out someone's apartment for a weekend is the BEST THING EVER. Our first one might have been a little…interesting, but when we finally arrived in Levanto, we stayed in the coolest place EVER.

We found ourselves winding our way up a hill in the middle of the Levanto valley. It was gorgeous.

Here's a small patch of the thousands of olive trees out there. The green strings are nets tied between the trees, they get spread out during olive season, so I'm told.

The roads are suicidally narrow, everything got terraced, but it deterred us not. We found a temporary spot to park where we searched for our apartment.

…we climbed some stairs...

….said cheese...

…wandered through a few walkways...

…and poof, we found the place. The renter's name was Francesca.

The windows were fun, the whole house was awesome!

The ceilings were painted, so pretty!

Couldn't pass up a few Narnia jokes.

Ah…the pathway to one of the best parts of the house. This is failed attempt #4 at barricading Max from the stairs. He's a smart boy, that fella.

Up those stairs lay an awesome spot.

A rooftop balcony...

With amazing views….

All around!

Since we still had half a day to spare, we went into Levanto to check out the Mediterranean, and find some delicious Italian food.

I wish I had taken closer pictures of the gardens we passed, they were gorgeous!

It got a little overcast. We had carriers for the boys, although Wes is very independent. He prefers walking.

Playing at the beach!

More jumping!

Most restaurants didn't open til 7, which was too late for the boys. Luckily, very luckily, we found a little spot that sold us on the name alone. The Salty Dog cafe.

The boys were hungry. We all were!

 Tasha: Salmon Pasta

Liz: Risotto

Dewy: Pork/Potatos

Me: Tomatoes, Mozzarella...

…and a nice Chianti…..ssssiiiiiipppp.

Needless to say it was all amazing.
